There are NO advertisements for buying expensive yarns - no need to use anything special. The yarns used are mostly 4 ply & 2/30’s and use those cones of thin yarn which we all have hanging around.  Everything has been knitted on my Brother KH965i. Most machine knitters already know the difference between the tensions for Knitmaster, Studio, Toyota, Knitking & Brother machines, therefore where I use T7 for 4 ply, if your machine is a different make, you probably already know that your carriage is set at T6 or T8 & so on.

The patterns have diagrams with measurements in inches. I do not use DAK. I use patterns from the Stitchworld books & include pictures of the motif charts if you need to copy them. Each pattern includes colour photos & written instructions,

The instructions for these designs are for giving you inspiration and ideas with the yarns you already have. The intention is to have you go to your machine with what you have to hand and by the end of the day you have knitted something that makes you happy with the result.

Click on the pictures below to see each set of designs.

Ponchos for adults using tuck, skip, threadlace, rib.

Full length ponchos or shoulder length ponchettes using fair-isle

Ponchos for baby & children in 6 sizes using fair-isle, rib or threadlace.

Shawl, afghans & throw using tuck & fair-isle.

I have included 1 or 2 free patterns which you will find here.  My own patterns (child’s sweaters & pet cushions) will give you an idea of how I write out instructions for my patterns & the ready-reckoner tension tables I include to make it easier.
