A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE KNITTING MACHINE PATTERN BOOKS

Brother published a number of different series of fashion magazines. They include Brother Fashion Volumes 1-13, Machine Knitting Fashion issues 1-14, and Brother Fashion issues 1-11. Brother also published Stitchin’Time which predate those others with some desperately old fashioned stuff in the early mags although the later ones 1980 to 1982 have some interesting designs in them. Why Brother didn’t round up their magazine collections to, say, 14 issues each, we will never know. It is like someone had a few ideas but never got around to finishing the projects.

Machine knitting fashion since the 80’s hasn’t altered that much even though the knitting machines have. The later Brother Fashion volumes, the most well-known books, catered for those who bought garter carriages & knitleaders as well as those who did’nt buy those accessories. The actual printing layout of these magazines makes them appear a better buy than the others as they have attractive full-page photos of the modeled garments & a nicer font is used for the typed instructions. I have given you the chance to look inside many of the books so you can see for yourself which have the baby patterns you’re looking for & the cushions & the assortment of sweater styles.

***BIG NOTE HERE: The Brother Fashion volumes are NOT filled with patterns from the other magazine collections. You will find 4 or 5 are repeats, but that is 4 or 5 out of hundreds.

**Pages which are missing from the books are outdated unnecessary advertisements **

YOU WILL DEFINITELY NEED TO DOWNLOAD THE METRIC CONVERSION CHART because many of the modern books and magazines adhere to the metric measurement system which makes it, quite frankly, pretty near impossible to match tension swatches.

and any of you who get fed up with trying to work out converting metric measurements to inches, maybe my tips will help which you will find here

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE - THE BOOKS ARE ALL ADOBE PDF FILES - PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST THE PAPER VERSION.
